Relay For Life
A Team Event to Fight Cancer
Upon the suggestion of our cancer survivor, Jana Squirrel, we proudly participated in Relay For Life 2002. We had car washes, candle parties, and took several donations to raise money for this event. We all joined together, and walked all night for our support in finding a cure.
Our theme- Open your homes for a cure seemed fitting for our real estate office. This fundraiser was dear to our hearts because we had cancer survivors in our office, and some of us have lost family members to this horrible disease. Sadly, we lost Jana Squirrel on 08-23-02 from cancer-related complications. We have committed our office, family, and friends to walk on Jana's behalf for Relay For Life 2003. Breast Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women ages 55 and older, and second only to lung cancer overall. During the year 2002, 182,000 women will be diagnosed, and 43,000 will die of cancer. Early detection is the key to survival.
